What Does GSA Stand For?
GSA stands for gender & sexuality alliance
Who Are We?
WPGA's GSA committee is a small council composed of students from grades 10 and 11, overseen by Mr. Chevreau, but is open to any student in the senior school who is interested (grade 8s included!) It works closely with the Wellness Council in terms of sexuality and gender awareness. If you are interested in joining, we meet every second Monday at lunch; we would LOVE to see you there.
Past Events
"Out in Schools" Presentation (2018-2019 School Year)
See home page for more details.
PRIDE day (2017-2018 School Year)
WPGA held its very first PRIDE day last week on May 17th! We are so happy to say that it was a huge success and there was lots of colour spread out throughout the school. From colourful ties, socks, shoes, hats, and capes, the PRIDE-themed accessory day was so amazing and we would like to thank all students who participated and showed their support for the LGBTQ+ community! Especially, we would like to thank Naomi Levy ('18), Naomi Carruthers ('20), and Mira Barret-McBride ('20) for all the work they put into making this day happen. From PRIDE flags in the planters to flags stuck on lockers to the PRIDE flag in the lobby to the handing out of rainbow stickers and the delicious bake sale; this would not have been possible without all of your amazing work. Also, we are so happy to announce that WPGA raised $650 from the bake sale to go towards QMUNITY, a local LGBTQ+ charity. We hope to make this an annual initiative!
